2nd & 3rd Grade

All Children Academics provides a small group, non-threatening learning environment for children who need individualized attention in developing their foundational student skills.

Our 2nd/3rd grade combination class maintains consistency and structure throughout its daily schedule with the flexibility of teaching to students different learning styles.

Teachers use a combination of project-based learning, math and ELA content standard based curriculum, one-on-one tutoring for individualized remediation, and accelerated learning opportunities for gifted learners. Teachers differentiate both curriculum and instruction, so each student receives an education that fits.

Students are active participants in their own their learning.  By focusing on student interests, teachers are able to derive meaningful projects, reports, and active participation in science and social studies. This hands-on classroom provides ample opportunities for mathematical investigation, discovery in science, and connections with animals and the environment.

In addition to academics, students continue to develop social and emotional maturity by focusing on social thinking, emotional regulation, executive functioning skills, and self-advocacy skills. Academic creativity, mixed with California content standards, allows each child to achieve at a self-driven pace, meeting their individual and grade level goals.

Academics

We follow the California academic content standards for each grade, differentiating to meet your child where they are at, and advancing from that point. We use a variety of curriculums, teaching styles, and a kinesthetic approach to teach to each individual child.

Our students build a solid foundation of social skills, and social and emotional development, through combined approaches of: Floor-Time (DIR), Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Social Thinking/Pragmatics and Mindfulness. Purposefully engaging and educating our students on the importance of communication (verbal and non-verbal), two-way communication, self-regulation, thinking about others, and engaging with those around you.

In addition to academics, our innovative curriculum provides social thinking opportunities, behavioral support systems, sensory integration, fine and gross motor benefit, language acquisition and extracurricular fun
